This condition can be categorized into wet AMD and dry AMD. Wet AMD requires intravitreal injections to treat and control the disease. Drugs used include Avastin, Lucentis, Eylea, Vabysmo and the recently released Eylea 8mg. New treatment modalities such as the sustained release port delivery system are also just on the horizon. Focal laser or cold laser (PDT) is sometimes added on to treat the disease.
