Surgical Options
Yamane Sutureless Scleral Fixation
This is the latest surgical technique which involves anchoring the new lens in the wall of the eye without the use of sutures.
Goretex Suture Scleral Fixation
This technique uses non-degradable Goretex sutures to anchor the new lens in position to the wall of the eye. This is an upgrade from previous techniques which uses Prolene sutures that can degrade with time leading to redislocation of the lens
Capsular Tension Rings / Segments
This technique uses ring segments to strengthen and stabilise the lens in the eye and is generally for relatively milder cases.
